Chronic inflammation and can lead to fibrosis of the gallbladder – becomes less motile (muscular structure surrounded by fibrosis)

What is the presentation?
A
RUQ pain Fat intolerance (steatorrhea): fat stimulates cholecystokinin release and gall bladder contraction

What is the treatment?
A
Cholecystectomy
If US shows a dilated common bile duct with stones, ERCP + sphincterotomy before surgery
