A

Chronic inflammation from T-cell activation

What effect does inflammation have on the bowels?

A

Thickens the bowel wall and narrows the lumen.
As Crohn disease progresses, it is complicated by obstruction or deep ulceration leading to fistulization, abscess formation, adhesions, and malabsorption.
