Q

Types of banding

A

Q banding - stained with a fluorescent dye such as quinacrine
G banding - staining with Giemsa after digesting the chromosomes with trypsin
R banding - produces the reverse of G band stain
C banding - chromosomes are treated with acid and base then stained with Giemsa

Remember UGRC but with a Q
