Q

What are these methods based on

A

Different types of polar groups (type strength of intermolecular forces)
amount of charged and polar chemical groupds
Molecular weight
Geometry

Q

What is stationary phase

A

Is a solid or liquid on whcih components can bond/interact/adsorb to. When components interact with the stationary phase, it slows their motion

Q

What is mobile phase

A

A liquid or gas that passes over or through the stationary phase. It dissolves and carries the components of the mixture with it
