The holy trinity
The father the son and the Holy Spirit.
The three beings that are God, they are all God but they are not the same
The father
• Creator of the universe
• Father of Jesus
• Loving Father of all people
The son
• Jesus
• Has always existed but became human, for a time.
• Shows the human, loving side of God
The Holy Spirit
• Can take many forms
• The giver of life
• Lives in people who believe in God
• Brings people to God, comforts people, shows people when they are wrong
Incarnation
Becoming flesh taking human form
Jesus’ birth was incarnation
Messiah
A leader regarded as the saviour of a particular country, group or cause
Atonement
the action of making amends for a wrong
In the bible this was Jesus’ crucifixion
Crucifixion
Jesus’ death in which he was nailed to a cross
The resurrection
When Jesus arose from the dead. There were many accounts of this
The ascension
When Jesus arose to the heavens to return to heaven
The soul
A spiritual part of you that is seperated from your physical form
Christians believe this is what separates us from animals as animals don’t have a soul
Judgement
The belief after death that you are judged on your decisions in life
Purgatory
The catholic belief of temporarily condition of torment and cleansing of the soul before heaven
Original sin
The beleif we are born with sin as the act of creation is sinful
Salvation
