Q

Evil and suffering

A

•free will led to suffering as god let us decide to choose whether to be evil or not since god is good they try to follow his example
•evil entered the world as result of Adam and Eve giving in to temptation in garden of Eden
This disobeyed god byy eating fruit of the tree knowledge ,this switch from a perfect world to one that causes evil -the fall , therefore after the fall every human being was born with a flawed nature capable of suffering this is idea of original sin

Q

Evil affects of Christians

A
  • evil can lead to people questioning their beliefs in god or even rejecting their faith
  • some might say if suffering happens god can’t be omnipotent and benevolent as a loving a powerful god wouldn’t allow it to happen
  • ’the lord is compassionate and gracious
  • some may say he wants to help me he’s isn’t powerful enough
  • suffering is often seen as test of faith and suffering can bring people closer to him
  • others say life on Earth isn’t meant to be perfect and focus should be reaching heaven
  • Christians believe they should help suffering and give to charity ‘whatever you did for one of these brothers/sisters of mine you did for me’
