How does the Nicene Creed define “god”?

A

Christians define their god as a Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit (see the excerpts from the Creed above, page 1). Each

identity - in order to be christian all you have to do is believe, sacred scriptures - they have their own bibles and even the old testament varies from the tanak, god-concepts - Christians she their god as the trinity and a saviour and jews do not, and authority structure- the Christians have a strict hierarchy or clergy while jews do not.

Some of the gospels like matthew say that not everyone is a sinner and there is a path without sin that we should take but paul rejects that idea.

A

(1) the Christian conceptualization of god;- he is both judge and savior (2) the doctrine of original sin;–sin is a natural human thing and everyone does it and it is why jesus is nessasairy. (3) the doctrine of grace; there are many dif forms of grace and it is also how jesus died for our sins and the trinity. and (4) the need for Sacraments– Christian rituals to experience grace of the trinity.

A

Operative Grace– it enables someone to want to be Christian
Cooperative Grace–God cooperates with you so that you are
able to choose the good and avoid the evil
Trinity? This is the grace/predestination of the Christian god.

it was when christianity became the offical state religion of the roman empire. the government and the religion worked closely together. They formulated the Nicene creed.

Why did Eastern Orthodox Christianity and Western Roman Catholic Christianity split?

A

Because the western catholics added Father and the Son… to the nicene creed and the orthodox didn’t believe that.

A

(1) the Anglicans;- very similar to catholic plus methodists
(2) the Lutherans;– follow martin luther believe the bible should be the only scripture and less authority
(3) the Reformed; - fewer rituals different soteriology
(4) the Radical Protestants. - very odd
