Lourdes is located in south west France and is a holy site dedicated to Virgin Mary. In 1858, a girl had 16 visions of Mary, who healed her. Thousands of Christians visit to bathe in the water.
Iona is located in the west coast of Scotland. It is a remote 6th century church devoted to Virgin Mary with a connection to nature.
What are festivals in Christianity and what is the main purpose of them?
A festival is a day or period of celebration for religious reasons. They serve to help Christians remember important religious events together
What is Christmas the celebration of? How does it end?
Christmas is the celebration of the incarnation (birth) of Jesus on the 25th of December. It ends with the feast of epiphany.
What is Easter the celebration of? What is the week leading up to Easter called and what is the purpose of that week? What are some practices that are done in Easter?
Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. The week leading up to Easter is called the Holy Week and during this week Christians remember the days leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion on Good Friday. Some practices done On Easter includes decorating eggs and filling churches with flowers. Both of these practices represents new life.
What is salvation?
Salvation is to be saved from sin and its consequences

One way of salvation is performing good actions which shows a faith in God
Another way of salvation is through grace which shows a faith in Jesus
What did Jesus’ resurrection teach Christians?
Jesus’ resurrection taught Christians that death can be defeated and humans can have eternal life if they believe in Jesus and do good things.
