Reasons for infant baptism
During Jesus’s baptism, a dove descended which is believed to symbolise the spirit of God- this reassures parents that their child will grow under the presence and protection of God
Baptism offers salvation and cleanses an infant’s soul from original evil, known to be the consequences of Adam and Eves’ actions- allows them to be free of sin
