Liturgical Worship
Worship following a set structure e.g. the Eucharist

Informal Worship
Worship that doesnt have a set structure and is often spontaneous
Often seen in evangelical churches.
Individual Worship
Christian worship alone to build a relationship with God

The importance of Prayer
Prayer is important for many reasons such as adoration, praise and thanksgiving
Jesus said that prayer is important and people should be fully focused on God

The Lords prayer
Recited at almost every church service
When this prayer is recited together it shows that Christians have one voice
Saying this prayer is instructed by Jesus

How do Quakers Worship?
Meditation,contemplation and personal reflection
There are no set prayers, they sit in silence
These isnt someone that usually leads the service

How do evangelical churches worship?
Often informal They seek to feel the holy spirit If they feel moved by the holy spirit they might speak in tongues or fall into a trance There is alot of singing and dancing "Sing to the Lord" 1 Chronicles

Infant Baptism
Usually Catholic and Anglican tradition
The baby, parents and Godparents are welcomed
Parents and godparents take vows, renounce satan, profess their faith and the faith they want the baby to be brought up in
Water is poured over the babys head as the minister says “I baptise you in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit”

The person chooses to become a member of the christian community
This is the same way Jesus was baptised by John the baptist
The person is lowered fully into the bath or the “river”

Explain the Eucharist
Roman catholics are expected to attend mass each sunday as an offering of themselves to God
The Mass recalls The last supper where Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples
The Mass has two main parts, the liturgy of the word and the liturgy of the eucharist(holy communion)

What is a pilgrimage?
A journey which has religious or spiritual significance, usually to an important religious place
Deepens relationship with God
To learn more about the religion

What is Easter?
Easter is the most important Christian festival
It remembers the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
Prior to Easter celebrations, Christians take part in Lent
It is a period of 40 days that marks the 40 days Jesus fasted in the desert.
