Christian Liberties Flashcards
Who is a STRONG brother?
Someone who participates in an ethical gray area in full assurance of his conscience because of his understanding of Christian freedom
Describe the “ethical gray area:”
An ethical gray area is where an area that is not specifically addressed in scripture is therefore viewed as permissible by permissible by some Christians
Who is a WEAKER brother?
Someone who does not participate in an ethical gray area because of the sensitivity of the conscience: his participation would be a sin to him.
What is a “stumbling block?”
A stumbling block is an action taken by a stronger brother which, though it would ordinarily qualify as a permissible act of freedom, influences as a weaker brother to sin against his conscience.
List the 5 principles of Christian Liberties:
1) Convinced for ourselves
2) Confident before God
