Genesis 2:
God created the heavens & the earth
God formed man form the dust form the earth & breathed life into him
God made tress grow out of the ground & made the garden of Eden
God placed Adam in the Arden of eden
Christians beliefs of genesis creation
- Literalists believe that the bible is actual word of god, ,exams they believe that every word in the bible is word of god so is true
- conservatives believe that the bible the word of god but not his actual word meaning the writers of the bible were inspired
- Liberals believe that the bible is a book of words about god & not the words of god
Importance of creation
Shows god goodness, gods creation is good. Catholic Church states that’s being in the image of god shows humans have dignity, they are capable of self knowledge
Knowing who they are why they are - have free will
Incarnation
When god became a human being in Jesus when Adam & eve disobeyed god by eating the fruit form the serpent showed they broke th eperfect relationship with god & they had a partial relationship with god
Importance of the incarnation
- God cared so much about the world he sent his own son to show what gods like & to teach them how to live
- without the incarnation of Jesus & god the father there would be no Christianity
Beliefs of the gospels
-In John gospels there is no mention of the upper room & of the bread & wine
-Matthew & mark say that the betrayal
& arrest took -lac ein the garden of gethsemane
Importance of these events
-Last supper is the basis of the Eucharist

- Jesus death on the brought about salvation from sin
importance of salvation
- Without salvation a person sins will prevent them from having a relationship with god in this life & send them to hell
- Salvation is the only way humans can have eternal life
- Salvation from sin was the purpose of life
Christians understanding of atonement
- Roman catholic teaches that christ offered himself as a sacrifice for human sin in an act of love
- Protestant understanding of how jesus death led to atonement
- Liberal protestant believe the way jesus brought about atonement by acting as a moral example to humanity
importance of atonement & salvation
For conservatives salvation is important because they believe without salvation from sin they will never have a proper relationship with god, there sins will not be forgiven.
Atonement is important because it inspires them to live a good life & living the christian life will bring salvation
Importance of the teachings about life after death
Christains believe that what happens to them after they die will be determined on how they have lived. They will be judged
- Chsitains beleive that sin can prevent people from going to heaven, those who die with unforgivensins will go to hell
Solutions to the problem of evil and suffering
Many christians believe that there is no point in worrying
about the problem of evil because humans cannot understand gods reason for doing things
-Theoretical repsonse: Evil & suffering are not gods fault god created humans in his image which means he created them with free will..
-Practical respone Christians believe they should respond to evil & suffering by helping those who suffer & trusting in god
