What are the three things Christian’s understand God as?
1.Everywhere at once
2. A creator who wants to reward us in heaven
3. Jesus who came to Earth to save humans and let them go to heaven
What do Christians believe about God ( linking to the trinity ) ?
That there is only one God but that God exists as 3 separate persons.
What do Christians believe about “God the Father” ?
Christians believe That God is like a father figure who loves and cares for his children.
What do Christian’s believe about the “Holy Spirit” ?
Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is God’s power at work in the world today.
They believe that the Holy Spirit ‘comforts’ those in need and ‘inspires’ human beings to acts of kindness, generosity and creativity.

Christians believe that God became human in the form of Jesus.
The word INCARNATE is used to describe this. Christians believe that through the resurrection of Christ, they can have eternal life

It shows how complex God is – God is not an individual like you and me, he is much more than that.
• It gives humans a model of relationships – not about dominance but about co-operation and being connected.
• It gives humans a way of having a relationship with, and worshipping God – they can understand the ideas of Father, Son and Spirit so this helps them to communicate with God.
Why is The Trinity important to Christian worship?
Blessings are given “In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”, the sign of the Cross is a Trinitarian gesture.
• Baptism is carried out “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”.
• Christians pray to God - ‘Our Father…’
• Christians believe that Jesus understands them, so
they can have a relationship with him.
• Christians feel they are guided by the power of God on earth – the Spirit.

- The sunlight doesn’t come until day 4 and God made the plants on Day 3 – photosynthesis – plants need the sun!
- If evolution is a proven scientific fact, how could humans have been created instantly?
Describe stewardship
As we were created differently, some Christians believe we should act as Stewards to the earth.
• We should care for the planet that God has created for us.
• Christians believe we should try to pass on to the next generation.
Why is creation important to Christians
Christians believe creation was so important because it shows God’s ‘goodness’
Each time God created something he “saw that it was good”
According to Genesis 1 after the universe was created “God saw all that he has made and indeed it was all very good”

•Genesis 1 claims that God was present at the beginning of all creation. He created the world from nothing (Ex Nihilo). This shows his Omnipotence.

What is the definition of incarnation?
‘the act of being made flesh’.
For Christians it means God taking Human form as Jesus.
What happened in Jesus Conception ( linked to Incarnation ) ?
The Angel Gabriel Visits Mary and tells her that even though she is a virgin she will have a son, and that he will be the Son of God.
What happened in Jesus’ Birth ( linked to Incarnation ) ?
Jesus is born in Bethlehem in strange circumstances, and is visited by shepherds and wisemen

Jesus slept, Jesus sweated, Jesus felt emotions, Jesus got hungry and he bled which are all human features of us e.g we need to sleep in order to have energy for the next day!

Why is the incarnation important to humans?
Christians believe that Jesus is God and that he came to earth in order to enable humans to be saved and go to heaven. Therefore without the Incarnation humans would not be able to have a proper relationship with God.
• Christians also show how much God loves the world. This is why they celebrate it every year at Christmas.
• It also shows how God is Omnipotent (All Powerful) because he can performs miracles such as the virgin birth.
• Christians also believe that as God has become a human he has more understanding of human issues and our problems. God can also understand our suffering and help us.
