What is the trinity?
The belief that there is only one God but he exists as three “persons”: the father, the son and the Holy Spirit.
What does the Nicene Creed reveal about the nature of the Trinity?
God the father- the creator of the universe and “almighty” means complete power.
God the son- Jesus Christ who is the son of the father.
The Holy Spirit- the “giver of life” meaning he is spiritually in the world forever and he empowers believers
What is the only quote mentioned in the bible of which the trinity is mentioned?
When “Jesus” was baptised he stepped out of the water and he saw the “spirit of God” and a “voice from heaven” said this is my “son , whom I love.
How is the trinity reflected in worship?
“God the father” - Christians believe that God the Father , the creator, cares for them as he made them. They pray to him in knowledge that he cares for them.
“Holy Spirit” - believe it is their comforter and guide through life. That it lives in their hearts and enables them to choose the right decisions.
“Son”- Jesus was a human being and so Christians believe he was the saviour who died for their sins. They follow the example of Jesus, to love everyone.
What is the metaphorical view on creation?
That it didn’t actually happen. It is just a story to help people understand that God is the creator of everything.
What is the literal view on creation?
That the Bible account is literally true and it is word for word exact. This is creationism.
Why is creation important for Christians today?
It gives them a personal and loving relationship with God and they believe they are guided through life.
Name three things Christians believe about Creation:
God gave humans the responsibility to look after his world.
God blessed humans and said “be fruitful and increase in number”
They should care for he environment so that the world can be passed on to future generations.
What is incarnation?
The importance of that Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God in human form.

Why is incarnation important for Christians today?
They believe Jesus came into the world to restore the relationship between God and humans. It also shows God loves the world and the people in it.
What happened in the last days of Jesus’ life?
The last supper, the betrayal, the arrest and the trial.
Why is the last supper and important to Christians?
Christians remember the Last Supper when they take part in the Eucharist .
Why was Jesus’ death important?
It was proof of his humanity- he actually died . Proving he was human as well as divine. They believe it was a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. The loving relationship with God is restored.
