A
- The government established the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) to start construction of CC = $13 billion
- City divided into 2 zones, based on damage
- REDZONE= worst affected, liquefaction.
- The government agreed to buy 5000 of worse affected insured properties/land.
- GREENZONE= 100,000 homes located here, likely to be rebuilt
- Reduce impact of liquefaction = increase foundation strength, reinforce with ion stone columns, but not enough to prevent subsidence
- International aid via money = $6-7 million
- Temporary house provided.
