Q

how do vaccinations work

A

you are injected with the dead or inactive version of the pathogen, this causes lymphocytes to produce antibodies and antitoxins. Your memory lymphocytes then remember this antigen so that next time you are infected with it you are able to produce antibodies and antitoxins much quicker so that you do not fall sick
