Choosing an IT system Flashcards
Choosing an IT system
There are many factors to consider when choosing the best system for the end user, ranging from what the
system needs to be capable of doing, to how the user interacts with it and what devices make up the system
Factors to consider when choosing an IT-System
**1. User experience and needs.
2. Specifications, compatibility, and connectivity.
3. Cost.
4. Efficiency and productivity.
5. Implementation.
6. Security.
Specifications, compatibility, and connectivity when choosing IT-System
Does the system meet the
specification requirements of the software to be used?
Will the system work with other devices?
Can the IT system use the required connectivity technology, e.g. for using mobile internet connections or syncing devices?
Cost when choosing an IT-System
Does the user have a large budget,
allowing you to choose components
from well-known brands?
Do they have a small budget
which requires looking for a
cheaper alternative?
***Efficiency and productivity when choosing IT-System
Is the efficiency Do users need
to be highly productive? Is it essential that the system is able to start up fast, load
and save programs and files quickly, and never stutter or crash or have any other problems? Does the user have the budget for the higher-end machines that provide greater efficiency?
Implementation when choosing IT-System
What is the
the timescale for the IT system to be implemented? Does the system need
to be available quickly?
Will users need training in order to use the
system?
