Q

What is nominal data?

A
  • Data in the form of categories ‘categorical data’
  • Is discrete (only 1 item can appear in 1 category)

Q

What is Ordinal data?

A
  • Data is ordered in some way e.g a rating scale
  • Does not have equal intervals between each unit e.g the value of an 8 is not double the value of a 4 in a rating scale.
  • Subjective, lacks precision

Q

What is interval data?

A
  • Based on numerical scales including units of equal and defined size
  • scientific measurements e.g weight, time temperature
  • necessary for parametric tests
