A
profuse bilateral nasal discharge
- variable appearance; clear, watery, foamy to viscous, feed tinged green
neck stretching, retching, gagging
possibly “colic” type signs; anxious, pawing
coughing, ptyalism
occasionally distension of esophagus

A
CS & hx
NG tube can’t pass into stomach (13th rib landmark)
endoscopy
CBC if suspect chronic dysfunct or aspiration pneum
maybe u/s or radiography

most common complication w/ choke
A
aspiration pneumonia

A
ulceration
can develop stricture if circumferential ulcer!
tear
rupture
causing infectious mediastinitis
diverticulum
