A

Strict matching. Group discussion scenario with proportion of time spent talking to each conferderate matched the reinforcement (social) obtained from each.

Horses: B1 and B2 lever press responses; varied rate of reinforcement on each –> as you change the proportion of reinforcement, you also get a shift in the proportion of responses made.

Herrnsteins hyperbola: does it fit the data?
VI schedules, reinforcer rates ranging from 10-300 foods per second. Recorded responses as key pecks/min. Used plotted graph points to compare to fitted curve with Herrnsteins equation. Used VAC to compare the two –> close = good support for the model.
ALSO
3 male pigeons on concurrent schedule. Reinforcer rate on key 1 was varied from 0-40 reinforcers/hour. Key 2 was held constant at 20 reinforcers per hour.
As reinforcer rate on key 1 increases, the response rate on key one also increases following a hyperbolic function. However, response rate on key 2 decreases. This is predicted = rate of response depends not only on the reinfocements you are getting for the behaviour you are doing, but those you could be getting for other behaviou.
