Chloroplast Flashcards
What is an upper epidemic?
Is the upper skin
What is a cuticle?
Is a layer that protect from the sunlight and rain
What do thylakoids consist?
Consist a thylakoid membrane surrounding a thylakoid matrix
What is the ground tissue?
Comprises the bulk of a plant leaf and variety of cell types. Parenchyma is thin flexible wall for metabolic activities and located the photosynthesis
What kind of cell is the chloroplast?
It is exclusive of eukaryotic cell
How many membranes does the chloroplast have?
Two, inner membrane and outer membrane
Where does the glucose synthesis take place?
Stroma
What is a xylem?
Absorb nutrients from the ground
What is a vein?
Provide support for the leaf and transport both water and minerals through the leaf
What is a guard cell?
Surround the stoma causing open close, change shape
What is stomata?
Gas exchange, surrounded by large air spaces
What is dermal tissue?
The layer that protects the plant from foreign organisms
What is collenchyma?
Provide additional support to the plant
What is spongy parenchyma?
Irregularly shaped, allow gases to circulate through the numerous air spaces between them to the palisade parenchyma
What is palisade parenchyma?
Columnar parenchyma cells that contain three or five times the number of chloroplasts
