With a 7 iron when chipping how should the club head and leading edge be aligned to the target?
It should be square to the target-leading edge at a right angle to the target
How will the hands be placed when chipping?
Hands should be close to the left thigh
What should weight distribution be like when chipping?
70% of your weight should be on the left leg
Where should ball positioning be when chipping, and what does this help create combined with weight being on the left leg?
Ball positioning should be in the middle of the stance. This combined with weight being on the left leg should help create/encourage a descending blow
What should the chipping action be like?
It should be a pendulum, very similar to a putting stroke
What will weight be like at the finish of the chipping action?
More weight will be on the left leg than there was at address
How will the right knee finish during the chipping action?
The right knee will have moved closer to the left knee
How does the right foot move in the chipping action?
The right foot may roll into the instep
Give two activities you could introduce in regards to chipping
.Knelt down, toss a ball underarm on to the green and observe the flight and roil of the ball. This helps the pupil visualise how the ball reacts on the green
.Pick a spot on the green and try and land the ball there. Observe how the ball rolls, could use a small towel to identify the landing spot and provide a target
