Definition ‘Serious Wilful Neglect’
Wilfully ill treats or neglect a child or wifully causes or permits the child to be ill treated in a manner likely to cause child actual bodily harm, injury to health or any mental disorder or disability. ie Failure to provide the necessity to life or exposure to a clan lab.
Definition to ‘Witness to serious family violence’
When a child witnesses violence resulting in, or having the potential to result in death or significant injury to family or household member.
3 initial step CFY and police must follow

Agreement
- IJIP must include, who will task what they will do and when.
CYF timeframes
- Critical - CYP at risk of immediate serious harm
- Very Urgent - CYP at risk of harm but not in immediate danger.
- Urgent - CYP at risk but protect in the short term
Note: must be completed within 2 full working days

if it is unclear what the child said and there is no safety issue DO NOT question further
DO NOT continue question when it become clear what has happen.
