What are the different types of attachment?
Secure and insecure
What happens in the re-evaluation of parent-child relationship(age 18-25)

Why are early life experiences important in the development of a child?
The influence a child’s later functioning and vulnerability to psychopathology
What does the internal woking model show?
How the primary caregiver’s behaviour towards the child influences the child’s behaviour(child’s working model of itself) and their relationship with the caregiver(secure, avoidant, resistant)
When is the pre-attachment stage?
0-2 months
When is the attachment-in-the-making stage?
2-7 months?
When is the clear-cut attachment stage?
7-24 months
When is the goal-corrected partnership stage?
24+ months
When does stranger anxiety go away?
~10 months
When does separation distress go away?
~12 months

Mutually responsiveness => Attachment grows => Exploration grows => autonomy grows
What does the strange situation(Ainsworth) describe?
A situation with an infant, the mother and a stranger.
How would secure attachment be displayed in the strange situation?
Child stays close to Mum, upset by her leaving, greets positively when she re-enters
How would insecure(avoidant) attachment be displayed in the strange situation?
Avoids contact with mum on reunion, ok when left with stranger
How would insecure(resistant) attachment be displayed in the strange situation?
Very upset by Mum leaving, difficult to console on reunion, both seeks comfort and resists
