When would you do inspiratory expiratory?
Used to exaggerate air in pleural cavity.
Expiratory phase good to look at pneumothoraxies and kids who have swallowed foreign bodies
What are the main features of left side of a chest x ray?
1st bump - aortic knuckle
2 - pulmonary trunk
3 left atrium
4 LV
What is the hilum?
Contains main vessels
- pulmonary artery
- pulmonary veins
- L main bronchus
What is dextrocardia? What is situs inversus and situs solitus?
Dextrocardia - right side heart, apex points to right
Situs inversus - mirror image of the chest, not highly associated with CHD
Situs solitus - normal structure, if dextrocardia -> high risk of CHD
X ray of APO?
KERLEY b lines - running perpendicular and parallel to one another. = interstitial oedema, fluid in between alveoli
What distinguish feature for RML pneumonia? What about RLL? What about LLL?
Absence of right heart border
R Diaphragm not intact
L diaphragm not intact
Black on an xray means what?
AIR!
Gas under hemidiaphragm?
Perforated hollow viscus
