Spontaneous Pneumothorax
Risk factors: smoking, male, family history BHD: mutation in FLCN gene (follicular) Highest recurrence in 30 days Treatment: after 2 occurrences - VATS or thoracoscopy
DVT Treatment/Prophylaxis
Ortho surgery: chemo or mechanical. Stop 12 hours prior and restart 12 hours after major surgery Provoked DVT: 3 months
PTLD
Likely due to EBV Large B cell non Hodgkin Treatment: - rituximab (anti CD-20) - reduce immune suppression
Acute Rejection
Within first year of transplant Lymphocytic vasculitis
CMV Pneumonitis
Valganciclovir used for prophy Nodules/LAD not likely Interstitial infiltrate Cytomegalic 250-nm cell with large basophilic intranuclear inclusion body with halo
