What are accessory fissures?

A

Azygous fissure lobe fissure - failure of normal posterior migration of azygous vein.

left minor fissure - separates lingular from remainder of the Left upper lobe.

Superior accessory fissure
inferior accessory fissure.

A

A

- Recess - region btw anterior and posterior costophernic angles.

A

What is the difference between the right and left bronchus?

A

Right bronchi is shorter and fatter and more vertical than left. - more stuff goes down it. (aspiration(breathe something in) of foreign bodies , vomit into R bronchus).

What are the attachments to the diaphragm ?

A
  • Lumbar - Right and left crus (right -arises from L1-L3, Left L1-2 and invertebral disc)
  • Sternal - posterior aspect f the xiphoid process.
  • Costal - 7- 12th rib and costal cartilages.
