Q

how do you make a standard solution?

A
  • decide concentration wanted
  • decide volume needed
  • calculate n needed
  • calculate m needed
  • accurately measure mass of substance needed into small beaker
  • add small volume of distilled water and stir to dissolve substance
  • transfer into standard flask along with washings
  • add water to mark on flask
  • invert standard flask a few times to mix thoroughly
