It boils at exactly 100ºC

Add nitric acid - no fizzing
Add silver nitrate - cream precipitate formed

Damp red litmus paper turns blue

Blue or Red litmus paper is bleached white

anhydrous copper sulfate turns from white to blue
OR
Cobalt chloride paper turns from blue to pink

Add hydrochloric acid - no fizzing
Add barium chloride
White precipitate formed
(barium sulfate)

Add sodium hydroxide - no white precipitate
Hang damp red litmus over side of test tube - turns blue
