Q

List Kössel’s findings.

A
  1. Highly electronegative halogens and electropositive alkali metals are seperated by noble gases.
  2. Formation of charged ions from a halogen and alkali metal is associated with gain and loss of electrons.
  3. Charged ions thus form stable noble gas configuration.
  4. Charged ions are stabilised by electrostatic attraction.
