CHDD Flashcards
Tracheal deviation:
Trachea can be pushed to the opposite side of the pathology due to an increase in volume in the side of the pathology.
Name 2 conditions that will cause this.
Pleural effusion
Tension pneumothorax
Tracheal deviation:
Trachea can be pulled to the same side of the pathology due to a decrease in volume in the side of the pathology.
Name 2 conditions that will cause this.
Lung collapse (not due to a pneumothorax but can be due to Pneumonia)
Fibrotic lung disease
Vocal resonance test:
Pneumonia and Pleural effusion.
Which one has an increase and which one gas a decrease in vocal fremitus?
Pneumonia- increased vocal fremitus (decreased air within actual lung)
Pleural effusion - decreased vocal fremitus (increased air within actual lung
