Q

Why does the graph not go through the origin

A

The graph is in °C and volume is only directly proportional to temperature in Kelvin, not Celsius. There is only a linear relationship between volume and temperature in Celsius. The graph has to be extended to -237°C in order to be directly proportional

Q

The relation between the Kelvin and Celsius scale

A

t (in °C) = T (in K) - 273

T (in K) = t (in °C) + 273
