  • Sets up actual route which materials must follow in the process to save time and costs.

  • Manufacturing process and sequence
  • Specifications of the final product
  • Cost analysis

  • Allocates each person or machine to their task
  • Loading calculates the amount of time each machine will need to operate during a day

Scheduling

  • Scheduling involves the timing of the production process
  • Scheduling takes into consider the routing and loading of both labour and machinery
  • Calculates required time for each activity in manufacturing process.

  • Deals with unplanned problems and sorts out any misunderstandings in terms of job process requirements

  • Inspection involves the checking of the quality of the process and the final product.
  • Done at regular intervals during the production process as well as at the end.
