Oil or solid fuel appliances, or gas appliances that have flue temperatures that exceed 470 F (243 C).
What must be added to a Type A vent when converted to a gas fired appliance that doesn’t have high flue temperatures?
A chimney liner.
When are Type BH vents used?
Only with high efficiency appliances that produce low flue temperatures and positive vent pressures.
When are Type L vents used?
Mostly just in accordance with manufacturers specifications due to cost.
What type of vent is approved for recessed wall heaters where the oval shape can be installed inside a 2 x 4 stud wall?
Type BW vents.
What type of vent is only approved to handle low temp. gases from gas appliances?
