Chapter 9 - Adjusting the CG Position Flashcards
1
Q
What options do we have when we need to change the CG?
A
Remove mass Add ballast Shift load
2
Q
Which way will the CG move when adding/removing a mass?
A
It will move towards the point a mass is being added or away from the point a mass is being removed.
3
Q
What is the load shift equation?
A
m = (M x c)/D
m = load being added
M = Mass of aircraft with everything in it
c = change in CG
D = Distance of movement of mass
4
Q
What is the load change equation and how is it used?
A
m = (M x c)/D
m = Mass of load added/removed
M = Mass of aircraft (Old/new (depending on New/old CG))
c = Change in CG
D = Distance between load change point and new/old CG
If you know old CG use new mass.
If you know new CG use old mass.
