How do you know if you are moving?
You pick an object as a reference point. An object is in motion if it changes position relative to a reference point.
What is the defintion of a reference point?
A place or object used for compairison to determine if something is in motion.
Why is it important to chose a stationary object as a reference point?
Because if you chose an object that is not stationary you will not be able to tell if you are moving.
If there are 2 skydivers and the airplane that they jumped out of, are the skydivers moving if the airplane is their reference point?
Yes, they appear to be moving away from the plane.
If there are 2 skydivers and the airplane that they jumped out of, is the airplane moving to the skydivers if it is their reference point?
No, the plane does not appear to be moving.

What do you have to know in order to calculate somethings speed?
The distance an object travels in a certain amount of time.
How do you calculate the speed of an object?
Divide the distance the object travels by the amount of time it takes to travel that distance or speed = distance divided by time.
