explain the impact of use of natural resource ob the environment
cause - as the urban population grows, more space is needed to build houses for the city, resulting in forests meeding to be cleared.
impact - resoures like building materialso are also extracted from the enviroment to meet the increasing de demand for housing. Deforestation is needed to acquire wood while mining is needed to acquire steel which are used to build houses. over-extraction of these natural resources can lead to resource depletion in the long run.
explain the impact of pollution on the environment
causes - introduction of foreign substances into water bodies/ land, which in high concentrations, can have harmful effects on plants, animals and humans.
impacts - informal housing such as slums lack access to basic services such as proper sanitation and proper waste disposal. They resort to dumping their waste into nearby land causing land / water pollution. Polluted land / water can lead to long term damage to the waterl land and limits the amount of clean water / safe land usable for future sustainable human use.
