What was the Fredonian Republic?
Haden Edwards declared independent from Mexico and the land located near Nacogdoches became the Fredonian Rebellion.

Similar to Marques de Rubi, he was sent to inspect settlements after the Fredonian Republic. He recommended that: 1. More troops in Texas, 2. Attract more Mexican settlers to Texas, 3. Increase Trade between Mexico and Texas.
Law of April 6th, 1830

- Outlawed slavery in Texas
- Added more Mexican soldiers and forts in Texas

Stephen F. Austin
He was sent to Mexico to deliver the request changes from the convention. He was waitlisted for so long he wrote a letter to the San Antonio government saying for there to be a temporary state government. After the requests were denied and accepted, the Mexican government found his letter and imprisoner him for a year.
Battle of Velasco
Somebody gave John Austin a cannon. Dude named Ugartechea attempted to stop him because why not and a fight broke out but he’s weak so Ugartechea surrendered.
Santa Anna
Santa Anna becomes president in 1833. The Federalists were back in power.
Convention of 1833
The Texians wanted to see these changes:
1. Resume U.S. immigration
2. Remove taxes on imported goods
3. Separate statehood for Texas
