4 steps of visitor follow up and why we do each:
- The Phone call : The intent of the call is simply to leave a warm feeling in the heart of the visitor.
- A Personal Letter: Should arrive a few days later. It should be warm, caring and not give an impression of a “form letter”.
- A personal visit: The most important part. It is here that the home bible study is offered, if one is not already going on.
- A church bulletin for one year: should be mailed to them each month. It reminds them that we are here and that we care.
4 elements of visitor reception and why (Role):
- Lot attendant: parking problems
- Door keeper: open door, smile, shake hands
- Hostess: gives the a guest packet, gets information about the visitor, introduces the usher
- Ushers: helps them to find a seat/ has a spot already picked out for visitors (aisle seat)
Who in the church makes the follow up visits?
Handpicked individuals who are well trained
5 reasons why visitors are you best prospects:
- 90% know somebody within your church, so they belong to someone’s “Oikos”. Most churches have few walk-ins.
- They are searching for something or they normally would not have come.
- They have felt the power of God in your service.
- Most important, the Word of God has planted in their heart by the power of preaching.
- Finally, most people that receive the Holy Ghost in our services have come more than one time! Each visit increases their chances of coming to the altar.
