Chapter 8- Reversal and Multielement Designs Flashcards
ABA design
Experiment entailing one reversal
ABAB design
Experiment entailing two reversals. This is preferred because reintroducing B provides replication, strengthening control and a functional relationship.
Multiple treatment reversal design
Experiment that uses the reversal design to compare the effects of two or more experimental conditions to baseline and/or to one another.
Sequence effects
The effect’s on a subject’s behavior in a given condition that are influenced by the subject’s experience with a prior condition.
Noncontingent reinforcement reversal technique
Can show that behavior change is the result of contingent reinforcement.
DRO reversal technique
Control condition consists of delivering the event suspected of functioning as reinforcement following the emission of any behavior other than the target behavior.
DRI/DRA reversal technique
Control condition
