Chapter 8 - Neuro-orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Flashcards
TBI - hindfoot varus deformity - treatment
split anterior tibial tendon transfer (one half the tendon is transferred to the cuboid)
ehl overactivity - transfer to dorsum of foot
tib post overactivity - lengthen
TBI - limb scissoring, cause and best surgical option
overactive hip adductors
if no fixed hip flexion contracture - anterior branch of the obturator nerve transection
if hip flexion contracture - adductor tenotomy
TBI - shoulder internal rotation/adduction contracture
cause: overactive pec major, subscap, latissimus dorsi and teres major
treatment: surgical release of overactive tendon in anterior deltopec approach
TBI - stiff knee gait - cause and surgical treatment
inappropriate rectus femoris activity during preswing thru terminal swing
transfer of the rectus femoris to the gracilis
TBI Hip and Knee flexion contractures - treatment
surgical release of the Iliopsoas off the lesser troch, adductor longus release, pectineus release, hamstring tenotomy
