Fossil Fuels
A source of energy burned to create electricity (coal,oil,gas) which is compressed underground for millions of years
Open- Cut Mining
Is when big holes are put in the ground and explosives are used to collect minerals out of rocks
Mineral Ore
A substance which contains minerals of value which can be found by mining.
Black Coal
A harder, dryer coal then brown coal.
Brown Coal
A type of coal formed over millions of years being compressed by peat
Gangue
The commercially valueless material in which minerals are found in

Salt water is purified to become drinking water

The weather breaks down objects by wind,rain and hail
Erosion
Erosion is the carrying away of sediments after weathering
Biomass
Biomass is an energy source made from burning living organisms such as plants.

The process of obtaining minerals
Deforestation
The removal of trees
