Hepatitis B, HIV, syphilis, other STDs
What infections will have inflammatory cells on vaginal Gram stain?
Candidiasis will have inflammatory cells and BV will have no inflammatory cells or inflammatory signs on exam
What is the treatment for Candidiasis?
Topical antifungal agent Clotrimazole/Miconazole suppositories or vaginal cream for two weeks or single dose of oral fluconazole
What is the treatment Trich vaginalis?
Metronidazole 500 mg be ID for seven days or 2 g single-dose.
What metronidazole instruction should be given to patients?
Treatment for partner, avoid alcohol what metronidazole use
What test should be given to patients with vaginal discharge?
Wet mount, vaginal pH, GC cervical culture, chlamydia culture, UA, vaginal Gram stain, Pap smear
