Driving privileges may include
- Failure to answer or pay parking tickets
- Driving while suspended
- Failure to provide proof of insurance
- Physical or Mental disqualification

Driving under the influence
If a driver’s BAC is 0.08% or higher a person that operates a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, they may be convicted of driving under the influence.
Driving under the influence
If a driver under age 21 buys or drinks alcohol in a place with an alcoholic beverage license, that person will be fined $500 or lose their license for a period of time.

$250-$400 fine
BAC of .10% or more
$300-$500 fine
License suspension and Interlock
3 months to one year suspension and possible interlock device requirement during suspension and for six months to one year following restoration.
BAC of .08% to .10%
Must install ignition interlock device for 3 months license suspension until ignition interlock device is installed
BAC of .10% to 0.15%
7 months to 1 year license suspension
BAC at or above 0.15%
9 months and 15 months months following license restoration and license suspension
Breath test
New Jersey an implied consent law. This means that motorists on New Jersey roadways have agreed, simply by using New Jersey roadways, to submit a breath test given by law enforcement or hospital staff.
Ignition interlock device
First DUI offense of less than 0.15%-six months to one year from the date of driving privilege restoration.
Intoxicated Driver Resource Center
State law requires that any motorist charged with an alcohol related traffic offense must be detained at an IDRC.
Motor Vehicle Violations
Unsafe Driving- A convection of unsafe driving that endangers a person or property requires payment of a fine of not less than $50 or more than $150 for a first offense, not less than $100 or more than $250 for a second offense, not less than $200 or more than $500 for a third or subsequent offense.
Reckless Driving
Driving recklessly in a manner that willfully endangers the rights, property or safety of others is punishable by imprisonment of up to 60 days, or by a fine of not less than $50 or more than $200, or both for a first offense.
Driver Improvement Program
Motorists who accumulate between 12-24 points in a 24 month period or more will receive a notice of scheduled suspension by mail from the MVC.
Attend a New Jersey Driver Improvement program(may not be able if points were accumulated within 24 month period.
