Chapter 6B - Motion Flashcards
What does zero velocity mean?
An object has no displacement or it traveled in a circle.
What is the difference between speed and velocity?
Speed is the rate of distance traveled in a certain amount if time. However, velocity is the rate of change in position over a certain amount of time and it includes a direction.
What does zero acceleration mean?
Something has a constant speed. It’s acceleration is 0m/s squared.
A person walks toward the back of a train car at 2 m/s. If the train travels forward at 14 m/s, what is the person’s relative velocity?
-12 m/s
What is the momentum of a 60 kg object moving at 30 m/s?
1800 kg . m/s
State the Law of Conservation of Momentum.
The amount of momentum before a collision is equal to the amount of momentum after a collision.
Define Energy.
