-written parallel to John the Baptist. Genealogy delayed until after the declaration that he is God’s son, and it is bottom-up: From Jesus-> God
Sets up Acts.
The Kingdom of God is upside down; the poor are rich!
No cry of abandonment: rest in the plan for redemptions and He died cause of injustice > for sins (unique to Luke). This is just the beginning.
Acts
- sequel to Luke that begins in Jerusalem->30 years-> Pauls’s final days. Paul did not write this because of Paul’s different viewpoints and version of events, problematic timelines, and no epistle references
- Witness in Jerusalem/Judea&Samaria/All Across the World
- dated after Luke from (ca. 95-100 CE) - (ca. 110-130 CE)

Genre of Acts
Greek historiography: shows history of a community: uses speeches, eyewitnesses, letters as evidence.
The Letters of Paul
Mostly written by Scribes or amanuensis, written to the community. He is attributed to 13 letters

Ephesians, Colossians, 2 Thessalonians = Deutropauline Epistles: seems like Paul wrote it
1 & 2 Timothy, and Titus = Pastoral Epistles: Vastly different vocabulary
