Chapter 6 - Speed, Displacement And Velocity Flashcards
0
Q
Define:
Displacement
A
Is distance in a given direction.
1
Q
Define:
- Speed
- Average speed
- Constant speed
A
1.Speed is the rate of change of distance with respect to time.
2,Average speed=distance travelled/time taken
3.An object at constant speed neither speeds up or slows down.
2
Q
Define:
- Velocity
- Average velocity
- Constant velocity
- Varying velocity
A
- Velocity is the rate of change of displacement with respect to time.
- Average velocity=distance travelled in a given direction or displacement overdone/time taken
- Constant velocity it does not speed up, slow down or change direction.
- It’s speed does not change but it’s velocity is changing because the direction in which it moves is always changing.
