The first effective spotlight. Extremely bright due to light shining through a column of calcium

“Method Acting”- actors completely become the character
Naturalism
Extreme Realism, working class = middle and upper class. Recreates the details fo everyday life
Neoclassicism
Renaissance - end of 1700s, only saw tragedy (upper class) and comedy (middle/lower class) Never mixing. Only 5 acts, Time + Place + Action, poetic justice
