A signal is sent through the Landing Gear Control and Interface Unit (LGCIU) 2 which starts the yellow electric pump to supply the hydraulic fluid.
How are cockpit door structurally manufactured?
The cockpit door structure is a honeycomb core bonded between pre-impregnated sheets.
On the CDLS A toggle switch is installed on the cockpit door panel on the centre pedestal. How is the door locked with the switch in the normal position?
This is the neutral position (spring loaded) in which the closed cockpit door is automatically locked.
How do you lock the flight deck door if there is a total failure of the CDLS?
If there is a total failure of the CDLS, the door can be closed manually from the cockpit side with a deadbolt to make sure that the A/C operates in MMEL conditions.
