How did King Henry think about the church?
King Herny thought the church was too soft on criminals. The King’s court would cut off the arms of theives but the chruch would just fine them.
What did King Henry used to do with Thomas Becket while they were friends?
They used to hurt together, dress in fancy clothing and get drunk. King Hnery even made Becket the chancellor.
Who controlled the church?
The Archbishiop of Cantebury. King Henry had no power over the church and the people who worked for the church.
What did King Henry do to control the church?
He made Thomas Becket the Archibishop of Canterbury.
What happened when Becket returned from France?
When Thomas Becket returned from France, he agreed to work it out with Henry but enede up excommunicating all the bishops who had helped Herny run the chruch.
What happened when King Henry found out that his bishops were excommunicated?
In a fit of rage, he yelled ‘will someone rid me of this troublesome priest!?’, and was heard by four knights.
Why didn’t historians know more about women in the middle ages?
It was because infromation we have noways was written by monks. Monks wrote about things that interested them such as religion and war but they had no interest or contact with women.
Why were women paid less for doing the same jobs as men?
